Malik Hooker, Safety
Malik Hooker is the best ball hawking safety in the entire 2017 draft class, which makes it unlikely that he will still be on the board when the Dallas Cowboys draft at the back end of the first round. But, he had surgery this off-season on a torn labrum and a hernia that caused him to miss the NFL combine and could cause his draft stock to take a little bit of a hit.
It would be a stretch that he makes it to the Dallas Cowboys, but if the falls within the 20-25 range in the first round, they could decide that it is worth the risk to trade up for him. This is especially true since Barry Church and J.J. Wilcox both left via free agency and with their departures the safety position is a little thin.
Hooker should be ready to go by training camp, so I think it is well worth the risk if they don't have to give up too much in return to draft him. If this scenario plays out, it would be an absolute no-brainer for the Dallas Cowboys.
