As uncertainty swirls around the 2020 NFL season, one former Cowboy made it clear where he stands. Wide receiver Dez Bryant took to Twitter on Tuesday, saying that he hopes the 2020 season is played because he “needs (his) redemption” on the league.
Bryant hasn’t played an NFL game since week 17 of the 2017 season, though he did sign with the New Orleans Saints during the 2018 season. Bryant suffered a torn achilles almost immediately after signing with the Saints, however, so it’s been quite some time since Bryant has had a chance to prove what he can do.
Bryant, of course, is one of the best wide receivers in Cowboys history. The three time Pro Bowler caught 531 balls for over 7,000 yards and 73 touchdowns during his time in Dallas, putting himself in “Ring of Honor” territory.
The Cowboys have plenty of weapons on the outside, especially after drafting Oklahoma’s CeeDee Lamb in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, so they certainly don’t have much interest in a Dez reunion.
Still, it would nice to see Bryant get another shot in the league this season.
