The Dallas Cowboys came up a little short on their final drive vs the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday and suffered a tough 38-31 loss which brought their record to 1-2 on the season. In addition to defeat, Defensive Tackle Trysten Hill was expected to take a hit to his financial portfolio for multiple hits vs the Seahawks, and Saturday the NFL finally dropped the hammer on the former second-round pick.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Hill was fined $6,522 for unnecessary roughness for twisting the leg of Chris Carson, and another $6,522 for roughing on Russell Wilson.
The play involving Carson took place late in the fourth quarter as Hill brought him down and then did what is known as the “gator roll” and twisted his knee. Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carroll wasn’t too happy about the play as he expressed to the media this week.
“Yeah, I was really pissed about that one,” Carroll said to 710 ESPN Seattle. “I don’t know what’s going to happen with that, but I was pissed because that guy hurt him, unfortunately.”

Cowboys Head Coach Mike McCarthy, however, showed support for Hill when asked about the play.
“By no means do we want to see a player hurt, but trust me, there was zero intent involved there,” McCarthy said.
Hill’s hit Wilson also came late in the fourth quarter. He was penalized for roughing the passer on the play.

Hill was named a starter at defensive tackle to begin the season. Although he hasn’t recorded a sack yet, he’s been disruptive up front and looks to finally be showing the potential that got him drafted in the second round in 2019.
