Whether you believe it or not, there is hope on the horizon for the Dallas Cowboys. It’s difficult to believe such a thing possible after seeing the way they’ve played through the first four weeks of the 2020 season, but it’s true nonetheless. In fact, they have a really good chance of going from losers to winners starting this week against New York Giants.
The tides could finally be turning for the Dallas Cowboys heading into this Week 5 matchup with the division rival New York Giants. The winless Giants could quite possibly provide the perfect opportunity for the Cowboys to right the ship and put their losing ways behind them for the rest of the season. Surprisingly enough though, there are other key factors that should come into play as well.
The biggest factor of course that should put more W’s on the board then L’s moving forward for the Dallas Cowboys is their remaining strength of schedule. According to advanced analytics site Football Outsiders, the Cowboys have the easiest schedule for the final 12 games of the 2020 season. HOORAY!!!
This is without a doubt great news for the Dallas Cowboys. Wins have been difficult to come by so far this season, but six of their final 12 games are against divisional opponents and all are very much winnable. After all, we all know how much of a mess the NFC East division is right now. As a group, they have a total of three wins on the season.
Having the easiest remaining strength of schedule is one thing, but capitalizing on it is another thing entirely. To date the Dallas Cowboys haven’t proven they can capitalize on much of anything, however, something else that will come into play here shortly should help them take advantage of such an opportunity.
Thankfully, reinforcements should be on the way in the next week or two for the Dallas Cowboys. Injuries have played a huge part in their lack of success this season, but Leighton Vander Esch, Anthony Brown, Randy Gregory, Cam Erving, and Chidobe Awuzie could return to action soon and help stabilize things, especially defensive side of the ball.
With that in mind, there’s no need to give up on the Dallas Cowboys just yet. Things are just now starting to get interesting.
