I wanted to shift gears away from all the draft and schedule coverage to run down a few guys who I think would be worth a roster spot on your fantasy team next season.
I know the off-season is still upon us, and we could still see a few tweaks to the roster, but as of right now, the Cowboys’ have a good idea of who will likely take the field every Sunday.
Wide Receiver CeeDee Lamb
CeeDee Lamb should be the first Cowboy taken off the board this season. According to FantasyPros, as of May 14, Lamb is currently slated as WR7 in their consensus draft rankings.
With Amari Cooper now in Cleveland, the numbers for Lamb should go up. We know Michael Gallup will return at some point, and while the Cowboys did sign wide receiver James Washington this offseason, Lamb should produce top-10 type numbers.
Running Backs Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott
I understand some fans might be fed-up with the contract that Ezekiel Elliott is currently carrying, but if you look at the numbers before his injury in Week 4, he was a top-10 RB in production. With a productive Tony Pollard waiting behind him, I never trust myself to draft Elliott.
Pollard is a stash-and-play type of guy. He could be great for your team when the bye-weeks start to wreak havoc in the middle of the fantasy year. Pollard is worth a late-round pick.
According to FantasyPros, as of May 14, Elliott is currently ranked as the RB19, and Pollard is ranked RB35.
Quarterback Dak Prescott
Some leagues use a two-quarterback system, and perhaps Dak Prescott could be worth grabbing early. Prescott finished as QB7 last season, averaging 20 fantasy points a game.
With some moving parts on offense, I would still expect Prescott to finish on the plus side of the fantasy market. I follow the pack, and once I see a handful of quarterbacks be selected, that is when I grab mine.
Tight End Dalton Schultz
Finally, Dalton Schultz can be a solid asset to your team if you get him at the right spot. Prescott always seems to be on the lookout for Schultz when he drops back to pass.
If you play PPR rather than a standard league, this is where I would look to jump on him in the later rounds.
According to FantasyPros, as of May 14, Schultz is TE8 right on the tail-end of the second-tier list, but I expect him to finish top-5 and reach double-digit touchdowns for the first time in his career, which should help both the Cowboys offense and your fantasy team.
