No one shined brighter on Saturday than KaVontae Turpin.
The wide receiver and return specialist showed out in a 32-18 preseason win against the Los Angeles Chargers, returning a kickoff and a punt for a touchdown. On both returns, Turpin put his speed and vision on display, making a firm case to make the 53-man roster.

I think it’s without a doubt he makes it. After scoring those touchdowns in the first half, Turpin wasn’t even in his pads for the second half. If the Cowboys feel it’s necessary to protect him from injury this early, he doesn’t even need the third preseason game to prove himself.
If Dallas is still looking for its return specialist, they’ve found one. The 2022 USFL MVP can play that role for the Cowboys this season.
Whether that’s his only role on the team remains to be seen. Turpin can definitely be used as a part of the offense as well. But, he’s making the team. Turpin has already proved himself.
