A lot of Dallas Cowboys (and football) fans know that the Washington Commanders are not a solid team this year. Even with that statement, the Cowboys know that they can not take any game lightly.
So what does that mean? Even though the Commanders are weak, it doesn’t mean that the Cowboys should brush them aside. Every team should be analyzed for their weaknesses and how to take advantage of them.
The Commanders have quite a lot, so here is a couple I’ve noticed.
One good point of a weak spot is their defense. The Commanders gave up a total of 82 points already this season. A lot of those points were from passing plays. One thing the Cowboys will need to do is a lot more passing this game.
I know many fans will get mad at a statement like that, but this game will be a very good experience for Quarterback Cooper Rush. If Rush can have more chances at throwing this game, it will reveal his true potential for passing.
Another weakness the Commanders struggle with is their offensive line. Quarterback Carson Wentz has already been sacked 15 times this season. Que Linebacker Micah Parsons. This can be a huge game for him if he is set up to rush Carson.
To take advantage of the poor offensive line, the Cowboys MUST send Parsons to the QB. If almost every down he’s rushing, he could rack up 3 sacks for the game.
One more weakness is their playing style on offense. They hardly go long and like to stay near the line of scrimmage. For that point, the Cowboys must play tight this game. Tight to the line, they won’t be throwing very far this game (most likely).
If the Cowboys can make sure to accomplish these three goals, then a win becomes even more probable. The Cowboys must still be on their game and make sure the Commanders don’t try anything tricky.
