Wide Receiver CeeDee Lamb is a well-known player in Dallas, having a history of making great grabs and catches as a Dallas Cowboy. It’s always nice to observe what these great players have accomplished in their football careers to get this far.
Let’s dive into Lamb’s history and how it all started.
CeeDee Lamb was born on April 8th, 1999, in Opelousas Louisiana. However, after the devastating acts of hurricane Katrina in 2005, Lamb and his family moved to Houston Texas.
He attended John and Randolph Foster High School in Richmond Texas.
He played football there and during his senior year in 2016, he had 98 receptions for 2,032 yards. This was the fourth-best in the state.
Lamb helped lead the team to a 14-1 season with their only loss coming in the semi-finals game for the state. Lamb received All-State, Houston Touchdown Club’s Offensive Player of the Year.
For a high schooler, this was big, he received many offers from colleges such as Alabama and other highly known programs.
However, Lamb would commit to The University of Oklahoma, where he would catch passes from Quarterback Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murry, and Jalen Hurts. It’s very rare (in fact, quite impossible) that you play with three different QBs that have all won Heisman Trophies.
Playing with these guys would help boost his skill and stats super high.
Lamb played for three years at Oklahoma before entering the 2020 NFL Draft.
During his stay, Lamb managed to put up crazy stats within those three years. He has a total of 3,292 yards receiving out of 178 receptions. With 32 receiving touchdowns, he was looking like a first-round draft pick.
He even did some rushes while at Oklahoma. He ran the ball 40 times with 316 yards. He only managed to get one rushing touchdown but hey, when you’re a wide receiver, one is equivalent to eight.
Another crazy stat is the fact that Lamb played two College Football Playoff games, one in 2018 and 2019.
After those crazy numbers, Lamb decided he had done enough, and went to the draft. Lamb didn’t have to wait for long, because after only hearing 16 names, he heard his.
The Dallas Cowboys selected him as the 17th overall pick in the draft. Immediately, he was ready to get to work.
In the 2020 NFL season, Lamb had 935 yards and five touchdowns.
He was a fast-moving player with great skills and hands. Many fans held hope for him as they believed he could be one of the best in the league. Lamb did not disappoint.
In the 2021 Season, Lamb performed even better, this time with 1,102 yards and six touchdowns. With more crazy catches and plays, Lamb once again showed that he belongs where he is today.
As the 2022 NFL year started, Lamb would face a difficult challenge.
While the Cowboys had traded some of their Wide Receivers and others were injured, Lamb would become the #1 wide receiver on the team.
Much stress and pressure would be on him, however, he is still performing better than ever.
CeeDee Lamb is still young and has many more years to play, I’m glad he is a member of the Dallas Cowboys and his skills can be a positive swing for the team.
He has accomplished many great things and he has surely shown he is one of the best.
