As the Dallas Cowboys entered Sunday afternoon’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, they did so as one of only two teams that had not won a game in their own building yet.
As we all know now, it stayed that way as they lost to the Eagles, 34-3, as Cooper Rush and Trey Lance turned the ball over a combined five times.
Dak Prescott’s season is over, and if this offense did not look bad enough already, it looks twice as bad without him on the field, this is going to be a long next two months for these boys.

This has been the worst Dallas Cowboys season that I can remember. I knew the offense would take a step back, but I did not think it would be this bad.
To note, Mike Zimmer’s defense has been so bad that it is hard to watch. I understand he had practice squad players for most of the games last month, but man, every time they ran onto the field, it felt like they were going to give up points.
After a decent first half, and by decent I mean they had a chance to at least make a game out of this, the second half started, and when it did the Cowboys quickly found themselves down 20 in a hurry.
What was notable about this 20-point deficit was that it set an NFL record for the most consecutive games in which a team had a 20-point deficit in their home building.
This streak started in the blowout loss at home to the Packers in the playoffs a season ago, and through the first handful of games this year. This team has been down 20 to the Saints, Ravens, Lions and Eagles all at home.

When you look around the NFL, the best teams in football don’t always play like the best, and yesterday you saw the Chiefs needing to block a field goal to beat the Broncos, and the Vikings struggling against the Jaguars with Mac Jones at quarterback.
Yet, when you look at the Cowboys, they are getting beat down by every single team, and they don’t have an answer for anything these teams throw at them.
They can’t even make it a fist fight, rather it turns into a bloodbath before you can finish your lunch or dinner.
From what it sounds like Mike McCarthy has lost this locker room, and things are not sitting well from the outside looking in.
Micah Parsons said coaches aren’t his top worry as Cowboys season spirals.
“Mike can leave and go wherever he wants. Guys I kind of feel bad for (are) guys like Zack Martin & guys who might be on their last year or on their way out. Because that’s who I wanted to hold the trophy for.”
https://twitter.com/JoriEpstein/status/1855799203223707882This has been the hardest season to watch in a long time. Even the year Dak broke his ankle, they still had moments and played well in games with Andy Dalton, they had promise.
This year, I have no idea what is going to happen once this season is over. I find it hard to bring McCarthy back.
The media is already talking about hiring Deion Sanders and all that garbage, but that is what they do.
This team needs to find some glimmer of hope. This football team is going to be picking inside the top 10 hopefully, because looking at college football this year, anyone outside that range is a project, and the Cowboys need a guy to step in a help them win now so they don’t set anymore bad NFL record in 2025.
Jerry Jones is going to need to make changes. I don’t know if that comes with firing McCarthy and letting Zimmer go, but you can’t roll into next season running it back again.
