You may have seen me and others around Cowboys Twitter and the fantasy football world talking about The Scott Fish Bowl on Twitter, but didn’t know what it was. It’s an amazing event put on by fantasy analyst Scott Fish as a way of raising money for his charity, FantasyCares.net.
His goal, to raise money to buy toys for children through Toys for Tots. This is the fourth season in which the Scott Fish Bowl worked to raise money through Fantasy Cares.
In 2015, Fantasy Cares raised around $1,500. In 2016, that number quadrupled to more than $6,000. In 2017, the number reached more than $15,000. Already in 2018, the fantasy football community through the Scott Fish Bowl and Fantasy Cares has raised more than $22,000.
Scott is a fantasy analyst who can be heard on the Bullrush Podcast and on Sirius XM Fantasy.
Here’s a recap of the work that Scott accomplished last season through Scott Fish Bowl 7 and Fantasy Cares.
There’s going to be a lot of children taken care of this Christmas through the awesome work that Scott Fish has done through Fantasy Cares.
The Scott Fish Bowl is made up of 900 contestants, predominantly analysts from around the fantasy football and real football world, as well as many fans who have won their way into the Scott Fish Bowl through various satellites that took place last year.
After observing the Scott Fish Bowl last year, I threw my name into the hat as an analyst and will be making my Scott Fish Bowl debut representing Cowboys Nation and Inside The Star.
The 900 teams make up 75, 12-team fantasy leagues that will play head to head weeks 1-12. Then the format goes to a rotisserie scoring format pruning away contestants until one is left standing after week 16 of the NFL season.
The starting rosters are comprised of one quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers, one tight end, three RB/WR/TE flex, and one QB/RB/WR/TE flex position with 11 bench spots. No defenses and no kickers.
Sorry, Dan Bailey.
The first thing to happen is the draft starting July 9th at 9:00 am Central Time. It’ll be a slow draft, but I’ll be tweeting my picks as I go so you can follow along.
The competition is stiff and the mountain is a tall one to climb to become the Champion of Scott Fish Bowl 8, but no matter where I finish in this thing, knowing that I helped purchase toys for a kid somewhere this Christmas is the real trophy.
If you have a heart for seeing kids who may not receive presents for Christmas do so, please go to FantasyCares.net and make a donation to the cause.
