2017 NFL Scouting combine: 10 DE participants to watch for the Dallas Cowboys

5 of 10

Ryan Anderson, Alabama (6’2″, 258)

DE Participant: Ryan Anderson

I personally like Ryan Anderson, but there’s nothing really special that jumps out at you when watching his game film. He’s not overly explosive or athletic, but he has a non-stop motor and is just an overall good all around player.

Anderson has the build of the 4-3 DE, but he really looks stiff on film when I watched him. His stiffness is something that I want to pay close attention to at the combine, because a lot of the drills that they are put through are designed to expose that.

Anderson would likely have to be a consideration at 60 for the Cowboys, but he may be gone before then. He is a heady player that knows how to be disruptive, despite not being the most physically gifted. He may be better suited to play a 4-3 SAM linebacker, but that’s one of the reasons I will be watching him closely.
