We all know that as owner/general manager of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones will do just about anything to help publicize the organization. Jones loves the brand he has been able to build since taking control of the Cowboys, and he relishes any opportunity to put his team in the limelight.

Well, he may just get his wish if the league accepts his bid to host the 2018 NFL Draft.

Jerry Jones and the Cowboys organization is no stranger to hosting big time events at AT&T Stadium. They continuously have all kinds of different sporting events, concerts, and you may have forgotten but they also hosted the Super Bowl a few years ago.

So, you can bet that he will do everything in his power to help the decision-makers choose which city will be the host city in 2018.

The NFL Draft, is one of the premier events in the NFL and seems to grow in notoriety and publicity with each year.

Of course, the Cowboys aren’t the only organization that is bidding to host the draft. Philadelphia, Denver, Green Bay, Jacksonville, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, and even Canton, Ohio have all shown interest in hosting the event in the future.

The Cowboys could possibly show off their new headquarters at The Ford Center at The  Star in Frisco, AT&T Stadium in Arlington or both facilities if they are chosen to host the NFL Draft in 2018.

The Star, is still under construction, but is scheduled to open on August 27. The facility will include an indoor 12,000 seat stadium and will house the Cowboys business and football operations, as well as team practices.

After calling New York the home for the NFL Draft for the past 50 years, it was then moved to Chicago where they hosted the event in 2015 and 2016. Commissioner Roger Goodell previously stated that the draft would more than likely relocate to a difference city in 2017, but there hasn’t been an official announcement of where the event will take place just yet. It is expected that the announcement will be made public later this summer.

Personally, I think the Cowboys organization has a good chance of hosting the 2018 NFL  Draft.

Once completed, The Star will have much more seating then was available the past few seasons when the event was held in Chicago. Like I mentioned earlier, there will be 12,000 seats available in the indoor stadium at the new facility, as opposed to the Auditorium Theater of  Roosevelt University which only had about 3000 indoor seats.

Of course, AT&T Stadium might be the preferred facility to use to host the draft. How cool would it be to see the future draft picks on the big screens in AT&T Stadium?

All in all, Jerry Jones and the Cowboys organization are going to put together the best bid possible to bring the 2018 NFL Draft to town and I for one would be extremely interested in attending if they do indeed have their bid accepted.

You can bet that I will be in attendance either at AT&T Stadium or The Star in 2018, what about you?
