After reports went viral on Monday morning announcing that Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott had allegedly assaulted another man at a local Dallas bar, further investigation has now been suspended by the Dallas Police Department.

Due to lack of cooperation and clear information from the alleged victim, the Dallas PD will no longer pursue the case.

While this seems like a win for us Cowboys fans and running back Ezekiel Elliott at the moment, it is important to remember the NFL tends to be their own judge and jury on these things.

They are still reportedly investigating Elliott’s domestic violence allegation, though the police dropped that case about a full year ago.

So, while Elliott will not face any legal trouble from this alleged incident, his status for week one of the 2017 NFL season may still be up in the air. Due to lack of evidence, though, I would hope the NFL would allow Elliott to play the full season without suspension, pending any further information.
