WR Participant: Cooper Kupp[1/8] Cooper Kupp, Eastern Washington (6’2″, 198)

Why he’s on this list: Cooper Kupp was quietly one of the best wide receivers in college football over the past several seasons. He finished his career at Eastern Washington as the Division I leader in receptions (428), receiving yards (6,446), and touchdowns (73).

Not only does he fit the Cowboys preferred parameters for a WR, but his versatility to play on the outside or inside should have him at the top of the list of receiver prospects that can take over for Williams.

He is a natural hands catcher and arguably one of the best route runners in the entire 2017 draft class. He may just be the most pro-ready WR that can step in and immediately have an impact at the NFL level.

Unfortunately, he is kind in no man’s land for the Dallas Cowboys. It might be a little too rich to draft him at 28 and he probably won’t be there when the Cowboys are on the clock again at 60 in the second round.

What to watch for at the NFL combine: The first thing that I will be watching for at the NFL combine is Kupp’s height, weight, hand size, and arm length measurable’s. College programs tend to slightly exaggerate their players measurable’s from time to time, so it will be good to know how he measures up officially.

Secondly, I will be anxious to see what his 40 yard dash time is. I personally think he is probably better suited to play out of the slot in the NFL, but his down the field speed could possibly make him a deep threat on the outside as well.

A good showing by Cooper Kupp at the NFL combine could move him up into the end of the first round. On the other hand, a poor performance could possibly make him slide a little bit, hopefully right into the laps the Dallas Cowboys at 60.
