The Dallas Cowboys will play their fourth and final preseason game against the Houston Texans tonight at AT&T Stadium. I’m almost positive that there will be a lot of interstate trash talk between both Cowboys and Texans fans, but that’s about all the excitement we can expect out … Read more

Impact Potential for Anthony Brown and Kavon Frazier

The Cowboys took four players in the sixth round of last April’s NFL Draft. Two of them were cornerback Anthony Brown and safety Kavon Frazier. Given that both guys play in the secondary, I thought we’d take a quick look at what role they could serve this year and how they may affect each other. On Friday Dallas released defensive backs Terrance Mitchell and Brandon McGee.  While the Cowboys may be adding other cornerbacks and safeties to fill those spots, the moves could signify that they like what they’ve seen from their rookie players in the secondary.

Tweet Break: Best of #Cowboys Twitter for May 20th

It’s currently one of the slowest times in the NFL off season, as we drudge through May while looking ahead to the Dallas Cowboys’ training camp later on this summer. The great world of Twitter is helping Cowboys Nation get through this downtime with plenty of great -and at times not so great – Cowboys content. With that, let’s jump right in to this week’s best of the best. The Cowboys had their home run derby to raise money for the Salvation Army on Tuesday, and above are some of the best tweets from the event. While Mike Fisher’s Cowboys news is always on point, we may need him to find an additional source to confirm that Tyron Smith is actually swinging a baseball bat in that first video and not a toothpick.

Rookie Watch: Cowboys Sign Ezekiel Elliott, 3 Others

It took some time, but 4 of the newest Dallas Cowboys’ rookies have signed their first deal with the team. Ezekiel Elliott, Anthony Brown, Kavon Frazier, and Darius Jackson are all now under contract and ready for what lies ahead in the 2016 season and beyond! It goes without saying that Ezekiel Elliott headlines this group, as signing his contract is just a formality. Ever since his selection was announced, Cowboys Nation has fully embraced the team’s newest dynamic running back. Even still, there’s a certain level of excitement in seeing Elliott in that Cowboys jacket, smiling as he puts pen to paper.

Draft Film Review: Cowboys FS Kavon Frazier

The safety position has been characterized by inconsistent play for the Cowboys for the past few seasons. The team seems to think that Byron Jones has a chance to solidify himself as the starting Strong Safety as early as next season, and I tend to agree with this assessment of Jones. However, while Barry Church and JJ Wilcox have their strong points, they also have a ton of deficiencies which are evident whenever you turn on the tape. Both Church and Wilcox have struggled with taking poor angles, resulting in missed tackles and big plays for the offense (see CJ Spiller’s overtime touchdown). Due to these deficiencies, we knew that the Cowboys needed to address the safety position at some point in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Is it football season yet? Well, not quite. That is not to say though that exciting things aren’t going on with the Dallas Cowboys! In fact, most of the rookies were already in the building as of yesterday, and took to Twitter to highlight their experiences.
