With Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott readying for his suspension appeal hearing, Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports is reporting that the NFLPA has hired attorney Jeffrey Kessler to help in their efforts.

Yes, that’s the same Kessler which defended quarterback Tom Brady during the whole Deflategate ordeal over the last couple of years.

This is yet another sign that Elliott and the NFLPA seem ready to take this case all the way to court, in an effort to both repeal the suspension and clear the star running back’s name of wrongdoing.

Obviously, there are a lot of sides to this story, and many reasons why Jeffrey Kessler has been called upon. Make sure you stay locked onto Inside The Star over the coming days as we discuss the reasoning behind this move in greater detail.

  1. This whole deal has stunk from the beginning. The NFL and Roger Goodell targeted Zeke from the very beginning of this “witch hunt.” From everything we have been told there was really no basis to warrant a suspension let alone one for 6 games. 6 games, are they serious? My god Brady only got 4 games for that mess he was in. Goodell and the NFL are all over the place on penalizing players. It is a known fact that this woman was stalking Zeke, and threatening to ruin his life, etc., but Goodell and the NFL just kind of over looked her criminal actions. Granted Zeke has not made some of the smartest decisions the last 18 months, but is basically still a kid. How old is he 22, 23? How many of us can say we were perfect at 22 or 23? I damn sure wasn’t. I did all kinds of stupid things. I feel if the don’t remove the suspension, which I know that won’t happen, then reduce it to 2 or 3 games, not 6.
