Cowboys cornerback Nolan Carroll has already been ruled out of this week’s game due to ongoing concussion issues, according to team owner Jerry Jones. This is an especially early announcement given that Dallas is playing on Monday Night Football, but there must be a clear medical reason for the decision.

Carroll’s absence won’t bother some Cowboys fans, who have been down on the free agent acquisition from Day One and especially after he struggles in the early part of last week’s game. Nolan was left trailing on a couple of big plays by Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders before going out with the injury.

Dallas could also be missing rookie Chidobe Awuzie this week, who has yet to return to practice from a hamstring injury suffered last week. Thankfully, they should get back veteran Orlando Scandrick.

Bene Benwikere, who Dallas traded for from the Bengals after final cuts, will likely get his first action as a Cowboy this week. The Cowboys could also call up sixth-round pick Marquez White from the practice squad if needed.
