Although the had a rough 2020 with a laundry list of injuries that led to a 6-10 record, was a major bright spot. The ultra-talented playmaker caught 74 passes for 935 yards and scored five touchdowns as he established himself as one of the NFL's most dangerous slot receivers.

Now as his second season in the league approaches, the expectations for Lamb have skyrocketed, especially with the return of . However, it isn't just outsiders that are looking for Lamb to take it to the next level, he also feels there's a higher plateau that he can reach in 2021.

“I want to focus on me being better for the team and definitely want to be as impactful on the team as I possibly can,” Lamb said, via Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News. “Naturally, the team will get better. We started a whole new system if you will. We got a new defensive coordinator [Dan Quinn]. Offensively, we got everybody back. It's a whole new role. I'm looking to be a better version of myself. To be better than last year and if everyone has that mindset as a collective group we'll be better.”

What will assist Lamb in his progression is the plethora of weapons the Cowboys have around him. and are two excellent outside receivers. and are one of the league's best one-two punches at . Sprinkle in the return of Blake Jarwin from a torn ACL, as well as improved health on the , Lamb will have even more opportunities to produce at a high level in 2021.

Don't take my word for it though, Lamb also sees greater horizons for the Cowboys offense going forward.

“Offensively at the skill position, I feel like we can compete with anybody,” Lamb said. “We're one of the best in the NFL, if not arguably. At any moment, anybody can touch the ball and go score. Last year definitely proved to us, at the skill position, we're pretty talented and if we play together and keep everybody healthy, who knows what will happen. Last year definitely opened our eyes for sure.”

Lamb didn't have the ideal situation during his rookie campaign playing with four different quarterbacks. With that being said, the young stud still had the most receiving yards from the slot for a rookie since 2006. Now, with a year of NFL experience under his belt, there's no telling how high Lamb's ceiling can go.

One thing is for certain though, the new 88 in Big D has captured the hearts of Cowboys fans worldwide and that love will only intensify as his game evolves.
