A 10-6 loss on the road to the lowly Tampa Bay Bucs is not a game where many Cowboys players earned their star. In fact, offensively, I refuse to name a player of the week.

That’s right –

The Cowboys do not have an offensive player of the week.

The team totaled six points and went four of thirteen on third down. Five more days until Tony Romo returns everyone, hang in there.

Defensive Player & Rookie Of The Week: Byron Jones

The rookie has certainly earned his star this season through 9 games. With Claiborne injured in this game, Jones kept the secondary together – as they held Jameis Winston to 264 yards and no touchdowns.

Jones also moved around from safety to corner and made the transition seamlessly each time – a remarkable feat for someone 345 calendar days removed from playing SMU as a member of the UCONN Huskies in college football.

Now, he is the only Cowboy worthy of praise from their seventh straight loss.
