According to local beat writer David Moore of the Dallas Morning News, the Dallas Cowboys have cut reserve QB Kellen Moore from the active 53 man roster.

The hope is that Moore will clear waivers as the team sees promise in the young quarterback and want to retain him on the team’s practice squad.

The Cowboys have had some mighty struggles since Tony Romo was injured in week 2 against the Eagles, subsequently landing on temporary injured reserve through week 10 against the Buccaneers, but Moore doesn’t appear to be the prospect many fans have concluded lately.

Even Dallas Cowboys Staff Writer David Helman recently said it was worth a look to give Moore a shot.

This move today leaves Matt Cassel and Brandon Weeden as the only active quarterbacks on the Cowboys roster. Presumably, Matt Cassel is the starter until Tony Romo can return. Romo is slated to make his return in week 11 when the Cowboys go Miami to face the Dolphins.
