In case you haven’t heard, the Cowboys are playing on CBS against the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday, meaning that Jim Nantz and Tony Romo will be on the call from AT&T Stadium. This will be the first time Romo – an internet sensation of a color commentator – will work a game involving his former team.

This will also very likely be a game that the Cowboys play without RB Ezekiel Elliott, meaning QB Dak Prescott will have a lot to prove on the field with the man he replaced just a year ago looking on and analyzing.

When asked about Tony Romo potentially being critical of his play Sunday, Dak Prescott said he will once again embrace it.

One of the most amazing things for Cowboys fans watching Dak Prescott has been seeing his work ethic and willingness to use all of the resources around him to get better. Already cemented as the franchise quarterback of America’s Team, Dak has taken the reigns and publicly cited the help from Tony Romo, Kellen Moore, and even Mark Sanchez as reasons he’s been able to succeed so early in his career.

Someday soon, there is no doubt that Jason Garrett will be able to say that Dak Prescott has made his life better too. From throwing after training camp practices with him in Oxnard to leading his team through arguably the best QB transition of all time, Prescott and Romo made for an enjoyable pair of teammates in 2016 – as they will a QB and commentator duo like none other in week nine.

Throw in the way Dak’s teammates have his back during this potentially rough stretch ahead, and playing in front of Tony Romo could be just the start of something even more special for Dak Prescott and the Cowboys in his second season.

  1. That seems like a typical response from Dak. He is a really special person due to his ability to open his mind to others advice, and his intense desire to learn and improve as his career progresses. I think somewhat lost in all the hoopla with Zeke is the growth we have seen from Dak. The guy is already a clearly top 5 to 10 QB in the NFL, and I firmly believe he is going to show just how good he can be with Zeke out. I would not be the least bit surprised to hear he has taken suggestions from Tony this week and used them to his advantage in the upcoming games. Dak is going the be one of the greats in this league in the years to come, and this is now HIS time with the Dallas Cowboys. He will carry us through.
