While Elliott has one of the greatest seasons ever by a rookie running back, nobody had a better story than Dak Prescott. A fourth-round pick who might have been third on the Cowboys’ depth chart if not for injuries, Prescott was unexpectedly thrust onto the biggest stage in the NFL when Tony Romo went out during the preseason.

Dak Prescott led the Cowboys to a 13-3 record, a division title, and the first seed in the NFC playoffs. His efficiency numbers dwarfed past rookies and were up there with the best quarterbacks in the game today. It’s not hard to see why the voters went his way.

The night is hardly over for Ezekiel Elliott, though. He is still a leading candidate for the Offensive Player of the Year award.

  1. 1) Dak earned it
    2) So did Elliott

It should have been shared, but it’s nice to see Dak get it.

Garrett earned his C-O-Y also, but it’s up to him to make sure nobody rests on what they did in 2016. And up to the Jones’ to get him the defensive help he needs to win a Lombardi.

Not a fan of owners and GM’s getting inducted into the HOF. It should be for players and coaches only IMO.

  2. Congrats to Dak but should have been Zeke. He would have definitely broken rookie rushing record if he hadn’t been used so sparingly at the end of the season
