In less than 24 hours after nearly upsetting the only undefeated team left in the NFL, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the have already announced Andy Dalton will once again take over the starting job at .

If Stephen Jones is to be believed, Garrett Gilbert will once again take a backseat after what can only be described as a fantastic performance in his first NFL start. I'm personally a little torn with this decision because I'm a fan of Andy Dalton's, however, I was also really impressed with the way Gilbert was able to continually put the Cowboys offense into scoring position on a regular basis.

With the Dallas Cowboys entering their bye week and it being so soon after the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, I can't help but think the Cowboys are being a little premature with their decision to shuffle their QBs once again. What's the hurry naming Andy Dalton the starter with nearly two weeks to reevaluate everything before having to make a decision?

I can certainly understand the thinking of going back to Andy Dalton. He is no doubt the more experienced of the two and was brought in to take over if anything were to happen to , like it has. Having said that though, the way Garrett Gilbert had the Cowboys offense clicking can't be dismissed. I personally like the idea of sticking with the hot hand, which seems to be No. 3 right now.

If it were me, I'd at least make it an open competition before coming to a final decision. I think that's only fair. Sadly though, things are rarely fair when it comes to professional sports. That means we can probably take Stephen Jones at his word, although I wouldn't be completely surprised if changes course when all is said and done.

Do you think naming Andy Dalton as the starter is premature?
