Dallas Cowboys Draft DT Joey Ivie With First 7th Round Pick

The Dallas Cowboys have three picks in the ongoing final round of the 2017 NFL Draft, using the first of which at 228th overall to add depth in the defensive trenches with Florida defensive tackle Joey Ivie.

Ivie amassed 2.5 sacks in ten starts for the Gators in 2016, finishing his Florida career with seven total over 16 starts.

As has been the case for Dallas’ late round picks, the players they are adding have traits to carve out roles this summer in training camp but won’t be depended on to play meaningful snaps.

Defensive tackle is one of the strengths for the Cowboys’ defensive line, and they’ve added to it with yet another rookie for Rod Marineli to work with in DT Joey Ivie.
