Today is awesome for three main reasons:

  1. There is NFL football happening with tonight’s Hall of Fame Game.
  2. We can watch the Cowboys Blue & White Scrimmage on DallasCowboys.com.
  3. The Cowboys signed a Defensive End!

That’s right! America’s Team is finally addressing the unit that many have been pounding the table for them to add some razzle-dazzle to.

Who Is Shaneil Jenkins?

Shaneil Jenkins, who you can follow on Twitter at @shaneil_jenkins, hails from Shepherd University. He went undrafted a few months ago before signing with the Denver Broncos, who know a thing or two about Defensive Line talent.

Shaneil’s collegiate resume is impressive. In 48 career games he accumulated 100 tackles, 32 tackles for loss, and 27 sacks. Last year, his senior season, he posted 41 tackles, 13.5 of them for a loss and 13.5 sacks. He was the Mountain East Conference Defensive Player of the Year, a pretty shiny ribbon to wear atop his uniform.

While Shaneil is a bit shorter than most productive defensive ends, he’s got some great arm length that allows him to really push guys aside on his way to getting to the quarterback.

Take a look at Shaneil for yourself and tell me you’re not excited. Go ahead, do it. I dare you.

Shaneil Jenkins, everybody!

  1. Haha that's true! I mean is this the second coming of Reggie White? Of course not. But FINALLY they brought in some D-Line help. This is a win for us!
