The Cowboys will play their first game of 2016 tonight (!!!), but Madden players will still have to wait a bit to break out America’s Team in the upcoming Madden 17 video game. When the time finally comes to earn bragging rights over your friends though, the Cowboys will certainly be a great team to do so with.

EA Sports has released their overall grades for the entire NFC East, with the Dallas Cowboys beating out the Eagles and Giants by four points and the 79 overall Redskins by five. The 84 overall-rated Cowboys received a boost by owning the grade of a 89 on offense, while the offenses of the Eagles, Giants, and Redskins come in at 83.

Defensively, things were also tight in the division that has not featured back-to-back winners since 2003-2004, as the Cowboys, Giants, and Eagles all ranked at the same level of 83 overall. The Redskins, despite the free agent acquisition of the human toaster Josh Norman, earned the lowest defensive grade in the division – coming in at 81.

It is no surprise that the Cowboys’ offense led them to the top of these overall rankings, as EA Sports had previously revealed the stellar rankings for the Dallas offensive line, along with rookie running back sensation Ezekiel Elliott.

Of course, Madden rankings mean nothing to a Cowboys team that won just 4 games a season ago. Their process towards proving that they are once again contenders starts tonight in Los Angeles, and on August 23rd for Madden users everywhere. Welcome back football, and happy gaming!

  1. Human toaster? So you’re implying he burns other people? He’s hot? I don’t get it. Maybe think your insults through.
