DeMarcus Ware is officially retired from the NFL – doing so recently as a member of the team that drafted him, the Dallas Cowboys in 2005. 117 of Ware’s 138.5 career sacks came in the silver and blue, but his Super Bowl ring was won with the Denver Broncos.

With the Cowboys visiting the Broncos this season, which won’t happen again until 2025, the stage will be perfect to honor Ware – something the Broncos will now do.

This very well could be the first of many nights dedicated to DeMarcus Ware in the near future, as the Cowboys will likely honor him at home on his path to Canton. Ware’s career in Dallas, with a sack record that still stands well over Jim Jeffcoat, is one that will always be celebrated but regarded as unfortunate when it comes to him hoisting the Lombardi Trophy with America’s Team.

Seeing him do so in Denver ended up being a great closing moment for Cowboys Nation with Ware, one that will be relived perfectly come week 2 of the 2017 season.
