The 2020 season has been somewhat of a rough one so far for . His first two games were solid as he averaged 92.5 yards rushing and over 120 all-purpose yards. However, the last four games have been a struggle as Elliott has rushed for under 60 yards in three of them, with his worst performance coming this past Monday vs the Arizona Cardinals when he fumbled twice.

Putting the ball on the ground has been a major issue for Elliott so far in 2020. Of his five fumbles, the team has lost four, which equals the total number of Elliott's fumbles the team lost during the first four years of his career. Unfortunately for the Cowboys, their opponents have scored 28 points off of those fumbles.

Elliott addressed his teammates on the issue after their loss to the Cardinals and accepted responsibility for his play.

“I just wanted to let them know how terrible I felt, just from my performance,” Elliott told the media. “And that I'm supposed to be a guy that this team and this offense can rely on and lean on when things get rough, and I just wasn't that last Monday night. I told them that I was sorry, and I promise I'm going to turn things around for this team.”

Elliott will look to bounce back vs a familiar foe, the Washington Football Team. Throughout his career, Elliott has thrived against Washington, racking up 717 yards rushing which includes one of his best performances in 2017 when he ran for 150 yards. Also, he'll be looking for his first 100-yard game of the season, and history says he has a good chance to do so seeing as he's gone over the century mark in four of his last five games vs Washington.

The Cowboys can regain the top spot in the with a victory Sunday and Elliott should be a major factor if that is to become a reality.
