Kickers in Fantasy Football can be an afterthought at times. The problem lies in finding the ones with the best opportunity to kick field goals.

So who is going to have the best opportunity to kick field goals in the 2016 season?

The Opportunists

Greg Zuerlein

Los Angeles Rams kicker, Greg Zuerlein, is attached to an offense that isn’t going to have much of a passing game. Case Keenum is slated to start at quarterback, which isn’t going to scare many defenses. For a kicker being drafted outside the top 15 kickers, Zuerlein is going to get a ton of opportunities.

Dan Bailey

Dallas Cowboys kicker, Dan Bailey, is going to get a ton of opportunities as well.

He is attached to a plus offense that will run the ball and attempt to keep the defense off the field. With the offensive weapons Dallas has, they are going to be in Bailey’s range just about every drive.

Combine that with a marked increase in extra point opportunities, and Bailey will have a top-five finish.

Lacking Opportunity

Phil Dawson

The San Francisco 49ers have Carlos Hyde and that’s about it. Blaine Gabbert and Torrey Smith shouldn’t create a lot of fear for opposing defenses, but unlike Los Angeles, the running game in San Francisco is far inferior to Todd Gurley and LA.

For Phil Dawson, he isn’t going to get the same opportunities as his NFC West rival in Southern California.
