The Dallas Cowboys third preseason game on Saturday may not look like the typical dress rehearsal that teams use this game for. After telling the media that Dak Prescott and other starters that have yet to see the field this preseason would either go against the Texans or not at all in exhibition, HC Mike McCarthy said today there's a “good chance” Prescott does not play vs. Houston.
The Cowboys management of Prescott has come under the microscope not just because the ink is still drying on his new contract, but in part due to Hard Knocks pulling back the curtain on how McCarthy, the Jones', and Prescott himself want to handle it. The season premiere focused heavily on Prescott pushing his coaches and even backups Garrett Gilbert and Ben DiNucci for practice reps.

Episode two aired last night, and showed McCarthy talking about ramping up the team for 17 regular season games as well as what they hope to be a deep playoff run. Missing the playoffs entirely without Prescott for 11 games last year, the Cowboys will have their franchise QB on the field as they look to keep up with Tom Brady and the defending Super Bowl champion Buccaneers on September 9th.
