Fired by the Cowboys after an 8-8 finish in 2019 and numerous other disappointments during his 10-year run as head coach, Garrett stayed within the division and took the OC job in New York as part of Joe Judge's new coaching staff. The Giants had the second-worst offense in 2020 and are only 23rd so far this season.

Garrett has spent nearly his entire NFL career in the . He was a backup QB for the Cowboys from 1993-1999 and then played for the Giants from 2000-2003.

After a brief stint with Miami as a player and coach, Jason returned to Dallas in 2007 to serve as offensive coordinator for 3.5 years. He took over as head coach after Wade Phillips was fired during the 2010 season.
