Here's a quick look at the players who have been confirmed out for for tonight's game or whose status is in question against the Seattle Seahawks: OUT: Dez Bryant, WR - Concussion Tyrone Crawford, DT - Concussion Shaneil Jenkins, DT/DE - Hamstring & Knee Andrew Gachkar, LB - Thumb Mark Nzeocha, LB - Achilles Kellen Moore,...
It seems like we just can't have nice things, Cowboys Nation. https://twitter.com/drewdavison/status/768074748639059968 I know your head is spinning, so let me try to explain. Arguably the biggest playmakers on each side of the ball for the Cowboys will be absent for the preseason's most watchable important game on Thursday night, at the...
For the first time ever last Saturday night, I was genuinely satisfied watching a Dallas Cowboys preseason game. I couldn't help but dream that just maybe Dak Prescott is the future... If nothing else, maybe he can at least be a backup that can win some games if called upon. 10-of-12 for 139...
The Dallas Cowboys depth at the tight end position may have just taken a hit for the start of the season and possibly longer depending on the severity of James Hanna's knee injury. On July 29, Hanna complained of knee soreness in his pre-training camp physical and the soreness was...
1-11 In case it didn't click right away in your head, this above figure is the record of the Dallas Cowboys last year without their starting QB. It is a lonely figure, and quite frankly an embarrassing one for any team, but especially unacceptable for a group that won twelve games...
Training camp has really been tough for the Dallas Cowboys over the past several years. Season-ending injuries have been a reoccurring theme, and unfortunately this year is no exception. For those of you that were really looking forward to seeing Kellen Moore finally get his chance to prove his naysayers...
Training Camp hasn't quite started for for most NFL teams, but that doesn't mean they're immune from injury news. For Washington, it's a pain they know all too well. Outside linebacker Junior Galette, who signed with the team last year only to suffer a season-ending left Achilles tear in August, now...
Typically, any NFL related news this time of year is of the negative nature and yesterday certainly didn't disappoint. Sadly, I woke to the news that former Vikings and Cardinals head coach Dennis Green passed away at the age of 67. Green may never be remembered as one of the...
On November 1st, 2015, Seattle Seahawks receiver Ricardo Lockette suffered a career-ending injury in Dallas. A big hit from Cowboys safety Jeff Heath led to severe neck damage. Yesterday, Lockette wrote a fabulous piece in The Players' Tribune about the injury and his subsequent retirement. Every football fan should take a moment...
The Dallas Cowboys provided a jaw-dropping moment in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft, when they decided to write linebacker Jaylon Smith's name down on their draft card. Why in the world would they draft a linebacker so highly when there's a chance he may have to sit out the entire 2016 season? Well, Smith's selection is based more on his future potential and that he can fully recover from a devastating knee injury that also caused nerve damage. If he can fully recover and become the player he was at Notre Dame, then the Cowboys would've drafted a player that is arguably the best defensive player in the entire 2016 NFL Draft. Can you say draft day steal?
A few weeks ago, I explored how the Dallas Cowboys' defensive line could still create pressure and wreak havoc even without the presence of a big time pass-rushing end. My plan focused on the interior of the defensive line shrinking the pocket and getting into the face of the quarterback. This would eliminate any chance of stepping up in the pocket, and would force either a quick throw or a failed escape attempt. Maliek Collins, Cedric Thornton, Tyrone Crawford, and Terrell McClain would be featured in a fearsome interior rotation that would bring hope to an otherwise questionable defensive line. It all seemed so perfect.
Rookie defensive tackle Maliek Collins has broken his right foot during Organized Team Activities and could miss up to 3 months. Collins, taken in the third round of last April's draft, was expected to be an immediate contributor on the defensive line. He was considered an instant scheme fit and could have even been a Week One starter if Tyrone Crawford is asked to play defensive end. Now he will likely miss all of training camp and perhaps the entire preseason. Collins' absence will give veterans Terrell McClain, Jack Crawford, and David Irving better opportunity to cement a role in the defensive line rotation.
The Dallas Cowboys grabbed Ezekiel Elliott with the fourth overall pick last night, and tonight entered day 2 of the NFL Draft with needs across the defense. Appetizing names such as Noah Spence, Jonathan Bullard, Ronald Blair, A'Shawn Robinson, and a host of other talented defensive linemen fell through the first round and were all potential targets for Dallas at #34. There was also a lot of speculation that the Cowboys would trade up or down from this pick. Instead, they stayed put, and added a talented linebacker out of Notre Dame that will not see the field in 2016. The unfortunately injured Jaylon Smith became the 34th overall selection of the Dallas Cowboys.
After the season our beloved Dallas Cowboys had in 2015, I think it's safe to say that EVERYONE now knows precisely what a clavicle is, where it is, and that it can break. Just to be sure, Tony Romo broke his twice (the SAME one), just in case someone...
How long did it take you to finally appreciate Tony Romo? Did it happen quickly? Did you immediately fall in love when he entered that game in 2006? Was it after his first playoff victory in 2009? Was it last year when he played as efficient as it gets leading...
Cowboys Nation all wondered why Tyrone Crawford wasn't the same this season. The defensive tackle injured his right shoulder in the week 2 match up against the Philadelphia Eagles, the same game where Tony Romo broke his collarbone. Crawford played through the injury the rest of the reason and...
When Dez Bryant signed his mega-contract this offseason, this was not the first year we had in mind. Ever since the week 1 win over the Giants, Bryant has been struggling with a foot injury that kept him out of five games before returning against the Seahawks and never...
Tony Romo is out for the year after injuring his left collarbone again; should he have been in there in the first place? Bobby goes off on the injury that never should have been. After a brutal Thanksgiving day blowout, what are some positive the Cowboys can take with them?...
The Cowboys' defense suffers another blow to a pass rusher. After initially being on the injury report for an illness, DE Jeremy Mincey has been diagnosed with a concussion and is officially ruled out for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. Without Mincey, look for the cowboys to start Jack Crawford...
Will McClay and Jason Garrett seem to agree with me on Matt Flynn, but not so much on Josh Freeman. The Cowboys will work out the following four Quarterbacks on Tuesday. Matt Flynn Christian Ponder Josh Johnson McLeod Bethel-Thompson Here David Helman gives some further information about the players. Interestingly enough, Josh Freeman was teammates...
