Things are taking a turn to the good for the Cowboys defense, Dave Campo was officially hired yesterday as the secondary coach! This is a wonderful move by Jerry Jones and Wade Phillips.

There is one small detail that is a little disconcerting apparently his number one priority is going to be Roy Willy (A.K.A Shitbag) all I can say to Dave is good luck. Dave although in his press conference yesterday did not give Willy a ringing endorsement saying “I think I can get with him and we can see if we can progress.

I think Roy has skills and I think he can play better than he’s playing.” This does not sound like someone very convinced that he can help a shitty football player be less shitty, lets just hope that he is not being judged completely on what he does with Roy Willy! The Cowboys also have interviewed former Texans and Panthers head coach Dom Capers for the vacant linebackers coaching position. Wade Phillips although was very evasive when talking about capers it does appear however that he will be offered this position, and if accepted I think we could see major improvements on the defensive side of the ball.

Greg EllisIn other news Greg Ellis will be making his first Pro Bowl appearance giving the Cowboys 13 pro bowlers. Ellis will be an injury replacement for Chicago linebacker Lance Briggs. Ellis had an outstanding year following a career threatening Achilles’ tendon tear in 2006. This comes shortly after winning the comeback player of the year award.

I only wish Ellis would stop his 5th grade temper tantrums.

If you remember just days after losing to the Giants he was already starting with the remarks about how he was going to get moved out to give more playing time to Anthony Spencer, and at the start of training camp he was crying about his contract! The Cowboys would be well served to keep Greg and let him pass his knowledge on to Spencer as he is not quite ready to be the force that Ellis is. If anyone on this team should get moved it should be Willy not Greg Ellis!
