Who saw that coming?

Despite being a 9.5 point road favorite against the Miami Dolphins, the Eagles suffered a major blow to their playoff chances, losing outright 37-31. Ryan Fitzpatrick and Devante Parker were unstoppable through the air today, making the Eagles secondary look as bad as they have all season.

Coming into the day, most expected the Eagles to even up their record at 6-6 and tie the Cowboys for first place in the . Instead, Philadelphia sits at 5-7 – with neither of the Cowboys' two straight losses really meaning all that much now.

Of course, just because the Eagles are bad doesn't mean Dallas should feel good about how they've performed as of late. Dallas has been as disappointing as anyone in 2019, but now they have a chance to walk to a division title.

As long as they beat the Eagles during their week 16 matchup, Dallas can simply go 1-2 the rest of the way to secure a playoff spot at 8-8. This is the worst case scenario, of course, but it is a viable road now that Philadelphia sits at 7 losses.

Dallas finishes the season with games against the Bears, Rams, Eagles, and Redskins. Philadelphia finishes up with two against the Giants, one with the Redskins, and one with the Cowboys.
