When we fantasized about this season we envisioned many touchdowns from Tony Romo to our cast of receivers. We saw Tony running up the line of scrimmage shouting, “Kill! Kill!” and Cole Beasley going into motion. We saw Terrance Williams making toe-tapping plays when the game was on the line. We had daydreams about Dez Bryant “Throwing Up The X” and couldn’t wait for all of our impending joy.

Dallas Cowboys fans have been treated to quite the roller coaster ride throughout the 2015 season. Our hopes have ridden the shoulders of Brandon Weeden, Matt Cassel, Christine Michael, Trey Williams, the list goes on and on… we really haven’t gotten to see our favorite players.

That all changes on Sunday when Tony Romo and Dez Bryant will be on the field together for the first time in 2015 since Week 1! That was 10 weeks ago… how insane is that?

The two most important Cowboys hadn’t combined for much when Dez left that Week 1 game against the Giants. Fans have yet to see what we’re accustomed to from the Tony Romo to Dez Bryant connection this year.

So exactly how long has it been since we saw a pass from Tony to Dez result in an “X” in the endzone? Prepare yourself. This might make you sad.

Sunday, December 28th, 2014 during a Week 17 game in Washington was the last time that the simple equation “Tony + Dez = Touchdown” happened. It actually happened twice that day.

We’re all optimistic and hope that Tony will find Dez in the endzone on Sunday against the Dolphins, but exactly how long will it have been since they last did it?

Between that December Sunday in 2014 and this Sunday, November 22nd…

330 Days.

Wow.

You can look at that amount of time a number of ways:

  • 10 months and 26 days
  • 47 weeks and a day
  • 7,920 hours
  • 475,200 minutes
  • 28,512,000 seconds
  • 90.1% of a common year

It’s rare that fans have to go this long before seeing a connection from their favorite quarterback and wide receiver. At worst you go from the final week of the regular season to the first week of the next. We’ve almost gone a full year!

Hopefully Tony and Dez can hook up on Sunday and give us all what we’ve been itching to see for the last 28 million plus seconds!
