The Line
Cowboys -3. O/U 51.5 Points.
Dallas Cowboys
In what was been an offseason like no other, the Dallas Cowboys are heading into 2020 with sky high expectations. Dallas’ offense was one of the league’s best in 2019, and by adding wide receiver CeeDee Lamb in the 2020 draft they’ve only gotten better.
Defensively the Cowboys have some question marks and changes, but new additions like Everson Griffen and Aldon Smith make this an intriguing unit.
The Cowboys are looking to breakthrough their Divisional Round ceiling this season, hoping that new head coach Mike McCarthy is the one to lead them there.
Los Angeles Rams
Two years removed from a Super Bowl appearance, the Los Angeles Rams are entering a pivotal 2020 season.
Once touted as the wonder-boy of the NFL, head coach Sean McVay saw his team regress a bit last season. Quarterback Jared Goff has already gotten paid, but he saw a step back in his play in 2019 as well.
Still, McVay is an excellent play caller and the Rams have plenty of roster talent. Guys like Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey are some of the best at their positions in the entire league, and they will lead the Rams into battle this Sunday.
The NFC West is arguably the best division of football, though, so every week counts big time for the Rams this season.
Trends
- The Cowboys were 5-6 against the spread last year when favorites by 3 or more points.
- The Rams were 4-3-1 against the spread when 3+ point underdogs last season.
- The Cowboys are 6-4 against the spread their last 10 games against the Rams.
Prediction
Honestly, I’m a little worried about betting the Cowboys as three point road favorites this week. They have a brand new head coach in a weird offseason, and this line implies they’d be massive favorites if this game was in Dallas.
Still I like the Cowboys to win outright this week, so I’ll take their money line.
