The Dallas Cowboys training camp is still quite a ways away as of now. Even though it doesn’t start until late July, some talk has already been made about what will occur during the camp.
These discussions have mostly been circling the topic of Tony Pollard and Terence Steele. These two players suffered huge injuries such as Steele’s knee and Pollard’s foot late in the season.
But as of now, the Cowboys expect these two to be active during the upcoming training camp.
This is a huge relief for the Cowboys fanbase, as many feared for both players that these injuries would be catastrophic to their careers.
With that said, how healthy will each player be, come July?
At the moment, the training camp is about four months away. This will give Steele plenty of time because he was injured at the beginning of December, but Pollard may be a slightly different story.
Pollard was injured during the San Francisco 49ers playoff matchup which took place in late January. It seems like a century ago that this game occurred but in reality, it was only about a month and a half ago.
During this year’s training camp, we will probably be seeing Pollard take smaller steps so he can develop back into the player he was.
Fans shouldn’t be scared though, Pollard will definitely be healed to play next season, but for the camp, he may be slow to start back up again.
Training camp will also feature new players including whoever the Cowboys decide to draft in this year’s NFL Draft.
While there have been many skeptical conversations about who will be the lucky first pick by the Cowboys, it would be interesting to see a new quarterback in this year’s training camp.
But that’s a story for another day, as of now, it’s good to take a peek at some players who will be returning to training camp.
Quarterback Dak Prescott is going to take this year seriously, as he is in grave danger of losing his job at the moment. With a disappointing ending to last season, many fans and even staff are raising eyebrows on whether or not he’s the quarterback that can lead them to the Super Bowl.
He is a player that you should keep an eye on during the training camp, and look for a change of behavior when he practices. That would show that he’s focused and determined more than ever this season.
This year’s training camp should be very strong and well-built in terms of players. Many of these guys have shown great improvement over the last few years and the Cowboys will be looking to improve the team to an even better record this season.
I will be eagerly awaiting Pollard and Steeles’ return as they are both key players to the Cowboys team overall. Can’t wait to see them and other players suited up in their uniforms for another great and exciting NFL season.
