The latest installment of the Madden NFL video game series is set to release on August 10th. Several high-profile rookies will be tested on the field as soon as fans unwrap their new games, as these new players change the dynamic of their teams — especially the quarterbacks.
In this promotional video, Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Mike White makes a quick appearance in among stars like Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, and Josh Allen. All going in the first round and projected to at least compete for starting jobs, White was a fifth round pick at 171st overall by the Cowboys.
“A 70 speed…let’s go!” – Cowboys QB Mike White
The Western Kentucky passer will look to push Cooper Rush for the backup spot to Dak Prescott, coming in with impressive traits and career numbers. The number White reacts to glowingly in this video is his Madden speed rating, starting off his career with a 70.
Amazingly, White was actually the slowest of the quarterbacks running at the Combine. His 40 yard dash time of 5.07 seconds puts him in just the eighth percentile of all drafted QBs for that measurable.
A speed rating of 70 in Madden does its best to reflect this, but White will take having his virtual self representing America’s Team as a rookie in the NFL. Cowboys Nation still has plenty of reasons to try out White at quarterback in the game, including his accuracy, touch, arm strength, and pocket presence.
