Is a 2025 starter available for Dallas to draft in the 7th round?

The Dallas Cowboys will enter the final round of the 2025 NFL Draft with two picks. As is the case in the sixth round, they are later in the round.

But value is still there to be had, and the Cowboys might just pull a rabbit out of their hat with the 239th pick of the draft this year.

Just as long as they don’t reach for a tight end again.

Last week I mapped out how my three picks would play out for the Cowboys in the first three rounds. Cody Warren has posted his mock of the Cowboys’ draft.

Earlier this week we’ve looked at different mocks, focusing on the fourth, fifth, and sixth rounds.

Today we check out the seventh and final round by examining this mock from the33rdteam.com. You can look at their entire mock at the link.

Below, however, we’ll check out their seventh round and focus on who they have the Cowboys taking as their final two picks.

So, let’s take a look at how round seven plays out for Dallas and the rest of the NFL. And let’s not forget the burning question of the day:

Who will be this year’s Mr. Irrelevant?

Brock Purdy can be stopped if Cowboys learn this one trick

Round 7 Begins

  • Pick Team Pos. Player College
  • 217 New England Patriots IOL Jonah Monheim USC
  • 218 Atlanta Falcons WR Kaden Prather Maryland

  • 226 Kansas City Chiefs WR Nick Nash San Jose State
  • 227 San Francisco 49ers IOL Joshua Gray Oregon State
  • 228 Detroit Lions IDL Simeon Barrow Jr. Miami FL

A Run On Iowa Prospects

  • 229 Pittsburgh Steelers IOL Connor Colby Iowa
  • 230 Carolina Panthers LB Jay Higgins Iowa
  • 231 Miami Dolphins EDGE Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins Georgia
  • 232 Indianapolis Colts SAF Malik Verdon Iowa State
  • 233 Chicago Bears IOL Drew Kendall Boston College

The Cowboys Final Two Picks

  • 239 Dallas Cowboys SAF Hunter Wohler Wisconsin

This actually makes a lot of sense, depending on how the previous rounds go for Dallas.

That being said, Wohler would be a solid addition to the Cowboys’ defensive backfield. I’ll go a step further and peg him as a starter later this year if Dallas drafts him.

We have a flag on the play!

Dear NFL mock makers. The Dallas Cowboys do not need to draft another tight end this year.

Stop it!

The Final 10 Draftees

  • 248 New Orleans Saints LB Teddye Buchanan California
  • 249 San Francisco 49ers SAF Rayuan Lane III Navy
  • 250 Green Bay Packers EDGE Jalen McLeod Auburn
  • 251 Kansas City Chiefs TE Luke Lachey Iowa

  • 255 Cleveland Browns WR LaJohntay Wester Colorado
  • 256 Los Angeles Chargers SAF Daniel Jackson Georgia
  • 257 Kansas City Chiefs SAF Shamari Simmons Arizona State

Ever since Brock Purdy went from Mr. Irrelevant in the 2022 Draft to starting quarterback in the Super Bowl in two seasons, there is a renewed hope for the last player taken.

Shamari Simmons, all of America stands with you.

As for the Cowboys, but late in the evening a week from this Saturday, barring trades, 10 new players will be added to the roster.

Not long after, the undrafted free agents will start signing too. We won’t know for a few months how the draft really grades out.

But Dallas desperately needs a higher draft grade than they’ve received the last two years for sure.
