Not Elite, But Still Very Good

Not elite, but still very good

Pretty much every team here was as good as expected, save for two. The Houston Texans and the Carolina Panthers.

2016 Houston Texans Fantasy Football Results

The biggest disappointment in this group has to be Houston. Lamar Miller and DeAndre Hopkins, two players taken on average in the first 12 picks in fantasy drafts before the season, were very disappointing.

Read what I wrote about Hopkins in my 2016 All-Flop Team.

Most of the Houston Texans’ disappointment lies with the arm of second-year quarterback Brock Osweiler, who was benched during the season for Tom Savage.

2016 Carolina Panthers Fantasy Football Results

The Carolina Panthers were also a disappointment. Cam Newton finished 15th in fantasy scoring and Kelvin Benjamin had just an average season.

Jonathan Stewart, Greg Olsen, and Ted Ginn Jr. were the only bright spots for the Carolina offense this season.

2016 New England Patriots Fantasy Football Results

The New England Patriots only ranked this low because of the suspension to quarterback Tom Brady. Without the suspension, they would have been in the “Elite” tier.

The biggest surprise there was the emergence of running back LeGarrette Blount who led the league in rushing touchdowns and had a thousand-yard season.
