Cowboys Waive K Lirim Hajrullahu, Make 4 Other Moves to Meet Roster Limit

The have made five moves to satisfy today's mandatory cutdown to 80 players. The most significant was waiving Kicker Lirim Hajrullahu, leaving as the only current candidate to handle the job in 2022.

Additionally, Dallas placed veteran TE Jeremy Sprinkle on . They waived WR Jaquarii Robinson and CB Quandre Mosely, plus waived-injured LB Christian Sam.

If he clears waivers, Sam will revert to IR and his right will stay with the Cowboys.

Clearly, the biggest news here is that Hajrullahu is out and Brett Maher appears to be our kicker going forward. That could change depending on cuts throughout the league, but now Maher will resume his career in Dallas after a two-year absence.

If he hadn't been injured I still didn't expect Jeremy Sprinkle to make the roster. The young potential at TE is high right now with , , and all vying for jobs behind . Sprinkle is a veteran blocker without room to grow; better to invest in the youth.

The other departures were not surprising at all. We haven't heard much from them during camp or while other dark horses have emerged at their positions.

There will be plenty more cuts and other moves this week before the final cutdown day on August 30th. We'll see how Friday night's preseason finale affects those decisions, but Dallas must reduce from 80 to 53 players before the next deadline.

Roberson was doing a good job on ST’s. He was usually the first one down there to down punts or force the fair catch. Still not enough to secure a spot with a very full WR room, but better than Drummond has been.

I hope that’s not the last we see of Mosely. TBH, I thought he was outplaying Wright and Joseph. He was absolutely outplaying Taylor-Stuart. Taylor-Stuart didn’t look like he belongs at all. Hopefully, he clears waivers, and they add him to the PS.

How in the hell is Brett Maher back in Dallas in the first place. Now he’s costing other potential kickers a job. He’s been here and it wasn’t working. What’s supposed to be different now? I watched him nearly miss an extra point attempt at the Chargers game. This guy is going to miss a critical kick in the Tampa Bay game and the Cowboys are going to lose that game because of him! He was inconsistent when he was here before and he still is. If he was better, wouldn’t he still be kicking for the Saints? Jerry and Stephen Jones never cease to amaze with their idiotic decisions!!!! Hopefully some other team will cut a kicker and the Cowboys will do the smart thing and get rid of Maher FOR GOOD!!!

Jerry and Stephen are the reason the cowboys stay in the position they’re in. Think they know about football and as long as they’ve been around, still making the same mistakes. I’m to the point where i’m sick of them. Wouldn’t bother me if they lost every game. Would serve them right

Some people never get enough chances to fail! Brett Maher is the poster child for failed attempts and getting a chance to screw up one more time. Waive Maher NOW!!!!!

At some point in this season, and probably early in the season, Brett Maher is going to break a lot of Cowboys Fans hearts with his BS! He’ll nail an insignificant 70 yard field goal and MISS a 37 yard game winner! He’s a joke and a clown or rather Jerryand Stephen Jones are the Clowns for allowing this BUM to be anywhere near this team. The Cowboys can be pretty good this season, but mark my words, Brett Maher will cut the heart out of this team on more than one occasion with his inconsistency.

They should have kept Lirim Hajrullahu, some other team will grab him I’ll bet, and Maher will choke when needed like he has in the past, should have rolled with the rookie and given him a chance Maher would have still been there if needed!
