Cowboys’ Rolando McClain Suspended 10 Games; DeMarcus Lawrence Suspension Upheld

It was literally almost a year ago, July 2nd, 2015, that you were getting ready for your July 4th festivities (Howdy, Jason Pierre-Paul!) and got wind that Rolando McClain of the Dallas Cowboys would be suspended to begin the upcoming NFL season. 363 days later... here we are, again. The super awesome (sarcasm) thing about this is that instead of being suspended for 4 games, Rolando McClain will be forced to sit out a double digit amount - 10.

Cowboys Linebackers Interested in Jaylon Smith’s Knee

I've never bought into the idea that Dallas' second-round rookie, linebacker Jaylon Smith, would play in 2016. His knee injury seemed far too serious to be worth the risk of trying to rush him onto the field. Still, there was a lingering hope that he might have a quick recovery and be able to contribute soon. ESPN's Ed Werder all but smashed that hope with his report yesterday: No big deal, in my opinion.

Cowboys Mini-Camp: Will Rolando McClain and Ronald Leary Report?

Plenty of players haven't been practicing with the Cowboys over the last few weeks.  Sean Lee, DeMarcus Lawrence, Dez Bryant, and others have been nursing lingering injuries and recovering from offseason procedures. However, two players have been away for other reasons; linebacker Rolando McClain and guard Ronald Leary. Starting today, the Cowboys' practices go from voluntary to mandatory. Per Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk, players who miss this three-day mini-camp are subject to a total fine of $76,580 if they miss the entire camp.

Are Any Of The Cowboys Defensive Players Irreplaceable?

The Dallas Cowboys, much like other teams around the NFL have players that are more important to the organization than others. That is simply the sad truth of the National Football League. I like to think of these players as being irreplaceable. These are the types of players that can pretty much ruin a season if they have to miss any length of time due to an injury. Unfortunately, this is something that we as Cowboys fans have recently had to deal with and something that can hopefully be avoided in the upcoming 2016 season.

Rolando McClain’s Absence Opens The Door At MLB For Andrew Gachkar

The organized team activities (OTAs) portion of the NFL Offseason is one where things can get silly sometimes. It's a point in time where everybody looks good, so and so is better than ever, and there is hope within 32 different buildings across the National Football League. While OTAs are technically optional, they're really not. Anybody who is a competitor and a point of stability on his team is present for them. Obviously there are rare exceptions, but typically if you're absent from OTAs it means that you're not 100% committed.

Is Rolando McClain Key To Cowboys Defensive Success?

There are a lot of questions surrounding the Dallas Cowboys defense for the upcoming 2016. Who will be the starting defensive ends with Randy Gregory and DeMarcus Lawrence missing the first four games due to violating the substance abuse policy? How will the cornerback situation shake itself out? Who will be the starting outside linebacker? These are just a few questions that surround the Cowboys defense that should answer themselves once the off-season practices really start getting underway.

Five Defensive Players That Need To Step Up In 2016

Yesterday I shared with you five offensive players that need to step up in 2016, and today I thought I would take a look at the other side of the ball and express what defensive players I think need to step up their game for the 2016 season. In 2015, the Dallas Cowboys defense under the guidance of defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli performed admirably and actually kept the team in games that were close enough to win, if the offensive performance would have been a little bit better. The Cowboys lost a number of games by less than a touchdown and if they can carry that over into 2016, there is no telling how far the team may go. There are a lot of players that could have been mentioned on this list, but if these players can step their game in 2016, it should improve the overall play of the entire defense. Here are the five players I would like to see step up their game in 2016:

Tweet Break: Best of #Cowboys Twitter For Apr. 22nd

Today is April 22nd. You already knew that, though. You also knew that, despite the NBA and NHL playoffs being well underway, the NFL has dominated the news over the past couple of days. Reason being, the draft is just 6 days away, Josh Norman is suddenly a free agent, and players are reporting back to their team's facilities to being preparation for the 2016 campaign. Of course, all of these things drew plenty of attention from Cowboys Nation faithful on Twitter.
