Dak Prescott’s contract saga has been the number one offseason story for Cowboys fans. But elsewhere around the league, other superstar quarterbacks are looking for ways out of their own situations.
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson requested but didn’t request a trade – weird, I know – naming the Dallas Cowboys as one of his four potential destinations. This immediately sent the football world into a whirlwind, with everyone dreaming up potential Prescott/Wilson trade packages between the NFC foes.
Prescott’s agent, Todd France, didn’t take too kindly to the trade rumors. France told CBS Sports’ Adam Schein that “there’s so many things wrong with it” when asked about Wilson including the Cowboys on his wishlist of teams.
Given that Dak Prescott was in the midst of a serious contract discussion with the organization, it’s understandable to me that France would be a bit salty with Wilson and his representatives. There’s supposed to be a level of fraternity among NFL players, especially between two faces of the entire league. Russell Wilson could have thrown a real wrench in Prescott’s ability to land the longterm deal that he eventually signed.
Both the Cowboys and Dak Prescott remained focused on the task at hand, however, making sure to ink the deal before things got too spicy between the two this offseason.
Now Russell Wilson and the Seahawks can cross the Cowboys off that potential wishlist, for now and for as long as Dak Prescott remains the face of America’s Team.
Why should any of us care about a salty multimillionaire agent fueled exclusively by abject greed? I grew tired of these Russell shenanigans weeks ago….but if his actions inconvenienced a soulless agent, it’s instantly awesome.
Just another indication that pro sports in America will one day implode under the egregious weight of its own uncontrollable greed.
Agreed⬆⬆What They Said⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⬆⬆
That’s an absolute ridiculously un-American response to this article. Capitalism, is nothing, without greed of the almighty dollar. Why shouldn’t every American be free to earn every dollar they can. Including the owners, billionaires and titans of industry. Which, no one seems to ever have cause to complain about. Even though they’re the greediest of us all.
There’s nothing wrong with giving a list of teams you waive your no trade clause to play for. It’s not like he mentioned only Dallas, there were 3 other teams on that list! This agent was only worried about HIS cut of Dak’s contract! It’s all about his greed. Personally I think Dak & Russell are great people & I’m certain that Russell wasn’t trying to hinder Dak in any way. He’s not that type of person. I’m glad Dak is able to return following his injury. The media needs to stop stirring the pot & find some REAL news to report about!
The biggest problem I have with it Russell has no honor or loyalty to the Seahawks or his teammates to put out a request like that that goes to his lack of leadership and if he knew anything about Jerry Jones he knew loyalty is very important that’s the reason he let Jimmy knowing the backlash he would receive all I can say to Russell is you should be a man first
@e yesirree! We in Seattle (well, I speak for myself) are tired of Russell. Instead of addressing his issues with Pete, he exposes his inner child. Apparently some children want more candy and will cry until they get it.
@jpc Well said, sir. Well said.
I really respect Mr France. He is a great man that has accomplished amazing things in his life. I strive to be like him in everything I do. I understand why he is angry. He has a job to do and RW is messing with that. Anyone that has a million dollars is a true American HERO. That means they worked really hard and achieved the American dream. Props to Mr France American HERO.
If anything, Russell Wilson’s interest in Dallas got Dak more money than he’s worth. The agent has it backwards.
Agree with e. the uncontrollable greed in pro sports is mind boggling.
To Robert J Johnson Jr,. “Owners and billionaires” are vilified, constantly, by MSM and lib politicians. Don’t know what world you live in?
Look it’s greed to a certain extent on the agent’s part , but isn’t it his job to get the best deal possible for his player ?
Another thing , the one i have a real issue with , why the hell do ppl expect players to be loyal ? Russ has every right to be pissed off by the lack of O-Line he’s had in Seattle , most sacked QB through 9 seasons eever in the NFL , you can try and say well he needs to protect himself more instead of rolling out , but i find it hard to believe that its all of Russ fault
and the fact that Carroll’s offense is pretty outdated as well to go along that , the Seahawks point blank need Russ more than Russ needs them , and if he doesn’t or his wife Ciara doesn’t like Seattle , then they can move on , i don’t care
Now i ask you guys this , has the owners or GMs always stayed “loyal” to there side of contracts with players ?
NO THEY DON’T, they’ll stay loyal if you playing good but if you playing like crap , they gonna find some loop hole in contract and get out from underneath it ,
You want the players to stay loyal to contracts , well the Owner’s and GMs need to stay loyal if you want that to happen ,
otherwise, POWER TO YOU RUSS #FREERUSS #DoubleStandard
