The home opener for the Dallas Cowboys couldn’t be going much better. They’ve dominated both sides of the ball and even overcome a few errors to build a 20-7 lead over the Philadelphia Eagles at halftime.
Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard have picked up where they left off in Los Angeles, combining already for 116 rushing yards. Zeke has two touchdowns on the ground in what’s shaping up to be his best game of 2021 so far.
Dak Prescott has been on point with 148 yards and one touchdown on 13-of-16 passing. His scoring pass went to Dalton Schultz, who is currently leading with four catches for 47 yards.
The Cowboys only have 20 points because of a missed extra-point by Greg Zuerlein.
The defense has also been strong. An Anthony Brown interception ended the Eagles’ first drive and they’ve been held to just 121 total yards so far.
In fact, Philly’s only points came thanks to a Cowboys blunder. Backed up after Brown’s INT, Prescott got hit in his own endzone and the ball came loose. Fletcher Cox recovered for the touchdown.
Outside of that sequence, though, this game has really been all Cowboys. Let’s hope it keeps up in the second half!
