Every year, it goes without fail that I'm optimistic about the season, and for those who ask me why I stay hopeful–I couldn't tell you why.

To me, it's like second nature for Cowboys fans to believe it's their year every year, and I have to admit I'm on the same boat.

Well maybe.

While I could give you predictions that outright say why this will happen, I wanted to spice things up and give three songs that will be the themes of the Cowboys this year.

Expect a mix of different genres, and for those who are music enthusiasts, please don't be afraid to drop your song suggestions.

With that in mind, check out three songs I chose for the Cowboys below.

1. “Livin' On A Prayer” by Bon Jovi

If there were one thing that I have done a lot while I watch the Cowboys every Sunday, it would have to be praying.

Every game, it feels like the Cowboys put themselves in a tense situation that causes anxiety for their fans, and nine times out of ten, you see them disappoint at the end.

Some of those disappointing losses wound up hurting them down the road in either playoff seeding or qualifying for the postseason, which is why I predict the franchise will be “livin' on a prayer” for other teams to lose so they can sneak into the postseason.

2. “Hot N Cold” by Katy Perry

I have a confession. Katy Perry is one of my guilty pleasure artists, and before fans clown me, I know you have your artists too.

Anyways, if there were one perfect song that describes every single season I have lived to see, it would have to be “Hot N Cold” by Katy Perry.

In addition to causing nerves for their fans, the Cowboys love to go through hot and cold streaks, and I wouldn't expect anything less this year.

Looking at their schedule, they open up against the Bucs and Bengals (difficult games, “going cold”), then the Giants and Commanders (winnable games, “going hot”), and so on.

You get the gist.

Expect a rollercoaster of emotions this year from this team. But if the Cowboys weren't causing you a mix of feelings, are you even a fan?

3. “We Are the Champions” by Queen

Ah, the good ole' tune that Cowboys fans haven't heard in a while, and the funny thing is this song was released in 1977.

And I'm no math major, but that would mean the “oldest” Cowboys fans first heard this tune playing for the franchise in 1978(when they won the Super, which was about 44 years and 145 days ago, and the last time most fans (who are still alive) last heard this tune was in 1996.

While my song choice would indicate I'm predicting for that drought to end for fans, I wouldn't get your hopes up too high because the only championship I see them getting close to is the championship.

Although I did mention them “livin' on a prayer” as they could be fighting for their lives to sneak into the postseason, with how bad the NFC East is–I wouldn't be surprised to see them repeat as division champs.

A Lombardi Trophy will run through Jerry World again someday, but if you told me it was happening this year, I would laugh and tell you I have a better shot at becoming 6-foot overnight.

(I'm 5'6, 5'7 on a good day.)
