What started out looking like a one-sided game by the Green Bay Packers, ended in a nailbiting finish that unfortunately had Dallas Cowboys on the losing end of the stick.

Defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli and his defense just couldn’t find an answer to slow down the red-hot Aaron Rodgers led Packer offense. Rogers was able to score at will in the first half, but fortunately the defense for the Cowboys were finally able to come up with a few stops and allow Dak Prescott and Company to put something together on the offensive side of the ball.

As a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the outcome of this game was definitely a bitter pill to swallow because of the expectations we had for this team. Playing in Houston, Texas in a few weeks for the Super Bowl was a very real possibility, but all good things have to come to an end sometimes.

Unfortunately, the Divisional Round of the playoffs is where the Cowboys 2016-2017 season will come to an end.

Although we may not like how the season ended, there is still a lot of reasons why you can hold your head high as a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. I for one am not as upset as I thought I would be after watching the Cowboys lose. There is just something special about this team that leaves me extremely optimistic about their future.

Use the arrows to see the three reasons why I think this is only the beginning for America’s Team. Hopefully these reasons will help you see the bigger picture of what is to come for the Cowboys organization.

  1. I completely agree with you. While this is a difficult time and was a hard loss to swallow. There is a lot to be excited about moving forward. This team, at least on offense, is set to contend for years to come. If they can add a couple more difference makers from this draft (EDGE and CB) they will be in a great position moving forward.

  2. Hoping, Smith can pick up, where he left off @ Notre Dame. Read somewhere, that HOF D. Brooks, Tampa Bay linebacker, who flourish in this system, will be working with Smith and his fellow linebackers, this off-season. It’s just a matter of time, when this defense will be a top 5 defense again.

    • If Smith can return to his former self, he already takes this defense to another level. Then add in any free agent signings and the 2017 draft class, you have the makings of an improved defense. It is definitely something to be excited about.

  3. think positive our offense is awesome get rid of free we have collins back inprove our defense smith back helps and we are young team only getting better
