The Cowboys were 13th in the NFL last year in QB sacks with 36. That’s probably higher on the league-wide list than you thought, because no single player was a standout. Mayowa led the team last year with a whopping six sacks. Not sixteen… six.
While Dallas can get a decent sack total through rotation, the lack of a truly dynamic individual pass rusher has hurt them many times. Sacks occur by circumstance rather than sheer talent and unstoppable ability from one guy, and that ripples across the line. When you need that crucial play in a key moment, none of our guys can just go make it happen.

Not since DeMarcus Ware has Dallas had an impact player at defensive end. Thankfully, this draft offer several guys who offer that potential. One of them should be there at the 28th pick and the Cowboys have every reason, now and for years to come, to add that player.
