It’s no secret that the Arizona Cardinals have been looking to find suitors to take Wide Receiver DeAndre Hopkins off their hands, and now some reports suggest that the State Farm Stadium side is looking to collect a pretty big deal in return for the 30-year-old former Houston Texans star.
By all accounts, Hopkins is seeking a move to a team that can challenge for a Super Bowl, and the Cardinals are looking to rebuild and, therefore, more than happy to cash in on a player with injury issues.

Last season the Cardinals struggled for form in a big way.
By week 10, they were already struggling at 4-6, and they then swept to seven straight losses, and that, in the end, led to head coach Kliff Kingsbury getting fired, having led the team to the playoffs in 2021.
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer believes that the deal the Cardinals will look for is going to look similar to what they splashed out to get Hopkins from the Texans back in 2020, stating:
“The ask is similar to what the Texans got for DeAndre Hopkins — a second-rounder plus something else of value. And at this point, trading for him would be more complicated than it was then.
“He’ll turn 31 in June. He’s got a lot of miles on his legs, to the point where he doesn’t practice much and has to be managed through his weeks. And while that’s existed with him for a while, only recently has it cost him time on the field. After missing just two games over his first eight NFL seasons, he’s missed 17 over the last two years (six due to his PED suspension).”
Hopkins is said to be interested in moves to either the Los Angeles Chargers or the Jacksonville Jaguars.
A move to the Chargers may be less likely given recent comments made by General Manager Tom Telesco about long-term wide-receiver Keenan Allen and a possible exit for the 30-year-old:
“Keenan Allen isn’t going anywhere. He’s an incredible player. We have an incredible quarterback. We need weapons around him. There’s never been any thought of that. He’s with us.
“Good players make money, and I would rather have a lot of good players on our roster than a lot of cap space.”
Hopkins has completed three seasons in Arizona, two of which were curtailed by injury, and on the whole, he hasn’t delivered the goods in anywhere near as consistent a fashion as he managed in Houston.
