The wait is over! The Dallas Cowboys used their 2020 first-round pick, 17th overall, to select Wide Receiver CeeDee Lamb out of Oklahoma.
Cedarian Lamb was considered by some as the receiver in this rookie class, and his fall to the 17th pick is a shocking surprise for the Cowboys.
With the 17th pick in the 2020 #NFLDraft, the #DallasCowboys select WR @_ceedeethree from @OU_Football! 🌟 #CowboysDraft

The #Cowboys looked hard at edge and CB… never expecting one of the top WRs to be there. A stunner. #Oklahoma WR CeeDee Lamb heads to Dallas. No. 17.

The Cowboys needed more WR talent after losing Randall Cobb in free agency. While they're great up top with Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup, the #3 receiver is essentially a starting position in the modern NFL.
Adding Lamb now completes the Cowboys' offense for 2020, allowing them to focus entirely on defense for the rest of the draft.
Their next pick, barring a trade, is the 51st pick.
I too was surprised Lamb was still available and that he was our pick. We needed a #3 receiver but I was certain we can would use our pick for a defensive player. I couldn’t be more pleases with our requisition though.
YES, YES!! CeeDee Lamb!! Took the pick away from the Sheagles!!
Next year a quarterback?
Wooo! Staying true to taking best player on board.
Great Pick Cowboys!
I am guardedly optimistic the FO can go about successfully acquiring picks for the defense to re-fill the CB, Safety, DE spots. Having a top 10 talent fall to you at 17 and the best (arguably) WR in the entire draft class wasn’t that difficult a decision to make for us to universally praise the House of Jerry. Now comes the challenging part. Stay tuned. DAY 2!
