The Dallas Cowboys found themselves in battle with the Jets for most of the first half until they broke things open, and ran away with a game they needed to win.
With all the injuries this team had today, to get this win the way they did today was needed, and the defense played their best game of the year.
With no CeeDee Lamb, and only one starting offensive lineman, the Cowboys just did what they needed to do and won on both sides of the football for the first time this season!
After the Cowboys took an early 10-3 lead when Dak Prescott threw a screen pass to Jake Ferguson for a 26-yard touchdown, they never looked back.
Near the end of the half, it looked like the Jets were going to tie the game heading into the break, but after Liufau made a nice play forcing Breece Hall to fumble, the Cowboys went 91-yards to end the half to take a 17-3 lead, and they weren’t done.
After getting a quick stop, the offense had around 40 seconds to add to the lead and JaVonte Williams got it started with a 66-yard run to the one-yard line, and Dak and Ferg finished it again to end the half up 23-3.
A rare miss from Brandon Aubrey on the extra point was the only issue they had in the first half.
It was the best first half in a long time for this football team. They got it from both sides of the ball.

Ryan Flournoy
Ryan Flournoy came up clutch right when they needed him, he had 5 catches for 105 yards in the first half alone! With No Lamb or Turpin, someone other than George Pickens needed to step up, and they got it from Flournoy!
I say keep feeding him while the others are out!
The Cowboys got the ball to start the second half looking to put the game away, and the offense picked up one first down and then, after a few odd play calls, they settled for a punt.
The defense looked to keep playing well, and they did that on the first drive, forcing the Jets to punt the ball back to the Cowboys offense and through the third quarter it looked like the play calling by Schotty was to simply not give the game away and wait for the defense to fold.
Dak Prescott connected on a 43-yard touchdown bomb to George Pickens to take the lead, 30-3. Let’s take a moment and appreciate the way that Prescott and Pickens have played without CeeDee Lamb out there the last two weeks!
The Jets scored a garbage time touchdown in the fourth quarter when this game was already over, but it would have be nice to see the defense not give up one, still Dallas won the game handily.
The final score was not as close as the game was. Dallas controlled the entire game from the middle of the second quater on.
Dak finished the day 18-for-29, 237 yards and four touchdowns. A great day from #4!
The defense also finished the day with 5 sacks! More than they have produced all season thus far. Let’s hope they can even play remotely close to this for the rest of the year, and yes, I understand it is the Jets, but they have been averaging 22 points a game, so a good day from them.
The Cowboys improve to 2-2-1 with a game against the Panthers next week, and honestly, I do think we will see this defensive performance again from them, but this offense has showed up and is playing like the best in football, and it is great to see!
Nice win against the hapless Jets. DP was outstanding, JW, patchwork O-line worked, Flournoy stepped up, defense was better, SJ, sacks!
Vam , the crazy thing is, under Mike McCarthy, I don’t think they win that game down so many guys. It just seems like under Schotty this team is ready to play from the jump. Hardly come out as flat as they did under Mike.
